How to Avoid Feeling Of Inadequacy In 6 Simple Ways.
Inadequacy is the root of low self-esteem. It is all about the standards and expectations we set for ourselves. We’re our worst critics. Other people don’t expect as much of us than we do of ourselves. It’s one big mind game. And to win over this game, I have some tips on how to outsmart yourself out of inadequacy.
1. Believe in yourself.
Before trying to believe in what other people say about you, you must first trust yourself. You know your strengths and weaknesses more than anyone. If there’s someone who needs to support you more in achieving your dreams, it should be you. You are your greatest sidekick.
2. Take in all the advice your friends give you.
If they are your real friends, they will let you know what they think about you. Be it good or bad, they will let you know especially if they mean well. Don’t set their comments aside. It might help you improve yourself. It’s not harmful to sometimes ask for some guidance from your support group.
3. Know your strengths and embrace them.
If you feel like you’re better at doing something, take time to develop those traits. Share them to the people around you and make use of it to improve yourself. Your strengths can take you to greater heights, don’t just keep it within you.
4. Don’t be envious of others can do.
Everyone is a unique individual. Do not set aside your own strengths just because you’re envious about what someone can do. Remember, you might possess a talent that others find difficult to do. Instead of drowning yourself with envy, focus on what you can do and support those people around you.
5. Open yourself to the difference between suffering and failure.
This is how we learn. Never forget that you are a human being that is prone to committing mistakes. We are all perfectly imperfect hence the flaws. Treat every failure as a stepping stone to success. Keep in mind that failure is like an accident. No one expects it to happen. But in terms of suffering, it is when you chose to stay down after experiencing failure and endured the misery instead of trying again.
6. Record your improvement and give some credit to yourself.
Credit is given when credit is due. Look back at the things you’ve accomplished and check your progress. See how far you’ve come, the lessons you’ve learned, and the changes that came with it. This will be rewarding. Savor your every bit of your success because you deserve it.
