You can’t control what life throws at you sometimes, but you sure as hell can control how you react. Here’s how to use negativity to lead a positive life.
I think for 2020, we should veer off course. Shake things up a little. So today, I want us to start thinking outside of the box.
You want to feel unique? Then start heading in the opposite direction everybody is heading.
To hell with following a trend this year. Set one!
Today, we are constantly bombarded with messages about positivity. especially with social media.
It seems like everywhere you turn you are constantly bombarded with some form of positivity on social media and even in the workplace. Happy this, positivity that, look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re that special snowflake, blah, blah, blah, blah, and crap I’m tired of typing.
It’s like we’re supposed walk around with a God D@#n smile on our face 24/7. You know, the kind of smile that would take a freaking hammer and chisel to crack. Because, if you are not in a constant state of happiness, then there is something wrong.
The thing is, if you try to be happy 24/7 you are going to mentally wear yourself out eventually. Sometimes life can take a really big sh*t on you and forget to wipe its ass.
So when those times come, and they will, instead trying to pretend to be all happy, happy, joy, joy with a smile on your face, just admit that this sh*it sucks and that you will prepare better next time.
You can’t control what life throws at you sometimes, but you sure as hell can control how you react.
How to Use Negativity to Achieve a More Positive Life
Are you still stuck in a dead end relationship? Are you remaining “positive” because you think that person will eventually change? Are you still letting them treat you like a garbage can?
Well, don’t worry. I’m not a doctor by any means, but from my own experience, I sure have hell can prescribe some good old negativity to get your ass out of that relationship that’s killing you on the inside.
I know, I know, the sane advice would be to put on a big smile and pull up your big girl pants and move on happily with your life. But see you’re not going to do that this year.
Oh no, no, no. You forget? You’re a 21st century girl. You don’t follow trends buddy, you set them. Don’t become like the sheep that you see every day. Become the God D@#n Sheppard.
You already know in the back of your mind that this person isn’t going to change, especially if it’s been over the course of several years. To hell with toxic relationships. And don’t worry, we all know karma is a bitch. They’ll get theirs in the end.
Something else I recommend is to not read some peppy, confidence boosting BS happy happy joy joy quote to make you feel better. Write one of your own. Add some good old curse words.
Something like “When feel like life is treating you like sh*t, just spin it around, bend it over and f@#k it up the ass.” You own life now, not the other way around.
Now let’s move on to your physical health. It’s the start of 2020. Don’t be one of the many that give up on their New Year’s Resolution. Be that select few that follow through. So get ready, because here comes the negativity.
Many get positive and tell themselves that they can do this, they will succeed, but not you. You are going to be real yourself. You know this is going to suck. It’s going to take a lot of hard work. You are charting your own course. Don’t be the group that heads over the cliff of failed resolutions.
Be a little negative and realize that it’s not going to be easy, especially with the nutrition part. You know you will have to put in the work to develop meal plans that will be sustainable.
Remember, you can still incorporate the foods you love and still get in the shape you want to. Is it going to be easy? Hell no. And if you slip up along the way, go ahead and get a little angry with yourself. Scream, cry, and cuss. It’s not going to kill you. Remember, this too shall pass and move on.
Let’s move on to finances. Are you making the same New Year’s Resolutions about saving more and spending less? Quite possibly. Have any idea how? Too nervous to ask someone for help?
Well, then this is when you are going to have to take a step back and say f@#k positivity. Admit it, you fu*ked up.
Don’t just be like “Oh it’s ok, I’ll just have to do better this year.” Admit to yourself that this won’t be easy. Are you mad at yourself for not saving enough last year? Well you should be.
So you know what? Take that anger and negativity and focus it on this year’s finances. Yes, I know, finances can be really boring., but remember easy does it, but do it.
You’ve got access to tons of financial information at your fingertips. Start out by educating yourself a few minutes at a time each day. If you find all those financial terms confusing and would rather keep it simple, try reading a book like The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. It’s about 144 pages.
It teaches a way to save money by telling a story. You may have heard this before, but discipline equals freedom, and anybody that laughs at it, just tell them to shove it up their ass.
I could go on and on about other ways to use negativity to lead a positive life, buuuuut I think I will stop here. I decided to write this article, because I wanted to do something different for a change. There’s lots of negativity in the world, so why not use as a tool to help you achieve a more positive life.
So what did you think of the article? Has it got you thinking about how you are going to take on 2020 and show it who’s in charge?
Let me know your thoughts. I would love to hear them.
