Ghosting has become a common phenomenon in today’s modern dating. Ghosting is when a person ends the relationship with someone without saying anything and stops all the communication without any explanation.

You have become emotionally invested in a man, and there is nothing worse than when he suddenly stops all communication with you without any explanation.

It hurts so much.   Doesn’t it?

It’s like your heart has been ripped out and cut up into pieces.

I’d like to share with you a story of a friend of mine.

Sara came to me crying, upset, and frustrated.

She was dating this guy, who she really liked. Sara thought everything was going well.  She really liked him she thought he felt the same towards her. Everything seemed to be progressing nicely.

But then he disappeared.

He stopped all the communications. And he stops answering calls, texts, and emails. He even blocked her from all his social media accounts. 

She was so worried and wondered what just happened to him.

Her thoughts were running wild and crazy.

She was wondering if he was okay. Did something bad happened to him? Or was he already seeing someone else?

She was wondering if she had upset him in some way, shape, or form. What could have been the reason that he all of a sudden just up and disappeared?

Every single one of her brain cells were working overtime trying to figure out what just happened.  It was making her so frustrated, angry, and feel devastated.

Has Sara’s situation has happened to you before? 

Has someone you really liked and even loved so much just suddenly stop liking you and stopped all the communication without any explanation.   Were you unable to figure out why?

Before you jump to conclusions and let your imagination run wild, you have to make sure and that he really did just up and disappear on you and he in fact ghosted you.

And if he really did ghost you, then let’s dive in on how you can deal with this pain of being ghosted.

1. Acknowledge that it is painful.

Embrace what you really feel right now. YES it is brutally painful and your heart feels like it’s been ripped out and kicked around on the ground. 

Embrace the pain. Cry it out. Grieve. Yell at the sky. 

Go somewhere quiet, peaceful, and safe where you can let your emotions flow freely.

Find a safe and peaceful place where you can release all your anger, disappointments, and pain.

While you are in this place look deep into your heart, mind, body and soul.

Allow yourself to feel angry.

Don’t be afraid to release all your painful emotions. It’s perfectly fine to feel that way. 

It’s okay to feel any of these things when a man suddenly ghosts you.

Don’t hold the pain. Talk about it. It’s okay to share and vent it out to your family or trusted friend.  Don’t let the pain build up until it explodes at the most inconvenient time and place. Like at your job.

At these difficult times in your life, it is a good idea to have someone you can trust to share your painful situation. It is good therapy to vent out your pains and emotions.

3. Don’t numb the pain with substance abuse.

I know it is very common when someone is in so much pain, they ended up numbing their pain with alcohol and other substances. 

These are just temporary fixes. You will wake up again and again with the same feelings and pain, but feeling worse than you did before.

There are many great ways on how you can deal with this painful situation and keep your values intact.

4. Look after your mind and body.

I know when we are in a painful situation, it can be really hard to maintain our sanity. It is easier said than done. 

This is where proper nutrition can play an important role.  Eat well even when you are in pain, but don’t let the food become your way of easing the pain. 

Sleep well but don’t let sleep too much more than your body needs. 

Get some exercise but don’t exhaust yourself.

The goal is to make your life balance so you can better deal and overcome this painful situation.  Remember, easy does it but do it.

Here are some ideas that you can do to help you relax your mind, body and soul.

  • Do some yoga 10-20 minutes a day.
  • Do some mindfulness and meditation 10-20 minutes a day.
  • Start writing a gratitude journal. Gratitude journal is a great way for us to remind ourselves that there are still things to be thankful about despite the storms and pains in our lives.

5. Go on a vacation.

If possible, take a leave from your busy and painful life. Give yourself a break. Go somewhere peaceful where you can relax and unwind. Take that trip that you’ve been promising yourself.

Scream out your pain into nature while letting the fresh air into your mind, just remember to make sure nobody is nearby.  You don’t want them to think you are in a lot of trouble.

At the end of the day, remain true to yourself.  You are a woman with high values and high self-worth. 

Girl, You know yourself and you deserve to be treated the right way. 

You deserve to be happy. 

Continue to love yourself. Take care of yourself. Live happily.
