Here is a list of 40 activities to do to that will make you happier, feel good about yourself and good about your mind. Take back your happiness.
Investing time and energy in your physical and mental health is essential to being happy. Many believe that happiness is found in others or in romantic relationships. However, to be happy, you must first accept yourself as you are and learn to love your qualities and your faults.
Taking the time to know your strengths and weaknesses and to understand how your mind works is also important.
What activities make you smile? What hobbies have you always dreamed of learning to master? In what environment do you feel most comfortable? All of these questions are essential in helping you identify the moments that make you happy and those that give you negative feelings.
For your well-being you must absolutely avoid neglecting your physical and mental health. Only when you are happy with yourself can you be happy with a partner or in a group of friends. Here is a list of 40 activities to do to that will make you happier, feel good about yourself and good about your mind.
Inactivity is the source of depression and negative emotions. Instead of letting your negative emotions take over and jeopardize your mental health, take back control of your life.
Take action before falling into a far too complex and complicated situation. Forget the past and choose to look positively towards the future. You can’t control everything that’s going on in your life, but you can control how you react to different events that happen.
Here is a list of 10 lessons that everyone should know. They are not only essential for your mental health but they are also useful in the social context and make you happier.
1. Get rid of bad memories
Buy a big trash bag and throw away everything you don’t use, anything small and anything that reminds you of bad memories. Having objects around you that cause negative emotions in your home is bad for your mental health.
2. Put an end to toxic relationships
You don’t need friends who are there only when it’s convenient for them. Besides, you should also cut all contact on social networks with people who don’t inspire you or make you sad.
3. Delete old phone numbers
Delete messages and phone numbers from people you don’t even recognize anymore, who you haven’t spoken to in years, or who are still waiting for you to be the first to contact them. It is also an opportunity to delete the contacts of your exes. After all, you have nothing more to say to each other. This process is very cathartic!
4. Learn to cook
Choose a few inexpensive ingredients and learn how to cook them like a chef. Do not try to create overly complicated dishes right away, but take the time to appreciate each ingredient and master each step of the recipe. It will give you special satisfaction to be able to eat a completely homemade dish.
For a few hours a month, invest your time and energy to help someone else. Forget your negative emotions and focus on someone else’s problems, much less wealthy than you. This will help you build your sense of purpose and your self-confidence.
6. Control your emotions
Prepare an action plan for when your emotions take over. You can choose to go for a walk, call a friend, take a nap, or go shopping. Instead of being overwhelmed by your negative feelings, focus on one activity.
7. Learn the art of shutting up
When someone says something just to piss you off, don’t answer them. Take back the power and control of the conversation. To be silent is not a sign of weakness. On the contrary, it is a force that few people have.
8. Be humble
Instead of repeating yourself that you are the best and the most brilliant, try to change your vocabulary. Introduce yourself as a worthy, deserving and capable person. It is all a matter of perspective and the line between self-confidence and arrogance is very fine.
9. Make a calendar of your energy
Instead of managing your day by hours, manage it according to your energy. Decide what to do when you are most fit and what to do when your batteries are low.
10. Don’t argue with yourself
If you imagined a situation or if it happened a very long time ago, what good is it to rehash? Do you realize that you are talking with yourself? Why are you arguing without anyone to respond to your attacks?
Being true to yourself and respecting your limits are crucial steps towards happiness. You have to be honest with yourself but also with the people around you if you want to be accepted for who you are.
11. Stop Photoshop
No longer manipulate your photos and no longer pose as if you were a top model. Just take pictures of your life as it is. If your life is not interesting enough to publish it in its originality, the problem is your life not your publications.
12. Download only what interests you
Are you bored with the radio? No worries, download documentaries or podcasts on daily tips to listen to them over and over while driving. Be honest with yourself: don’t download what’s trendy, but download what really interests you.
13. Read to become better
Don’t buy a book to try to be smarter or to keep up to date on what’s going on in the literary world. Choose a book that stirs your curiosity and that you will read with pleasure.
14. Don’t tolerate rudeness
The next time someone behaves badly, let them know politely. Tell him that his words are hurtful and that you did not appreciate his attitude. If you don’t learn to set boundaries, rude people will continue to enjoy your kindness.
15. Forget about regrets
Stop talking about what you hate or what you would like to have. Talk about what you want to create and who you want to be. Then make a specific plan to get everything you want.
16. You cannot be perfect
Stop trying to become a superior being. You can’t cook like a chef, work like a manager, have a group of smart and interesting friends, take pictures like a professional, and play sports like a top athlete. Pick one or two things that you enjoy doing and that you have a knack for and enjoy!
17. Enjoy your ordinary side
Most people think that being ordinary is an evil. In reality, the majority of the population is ordinary and there is nothing wrong with that. Accept the fact that you are like the rest of you.
18. Think before you speak
Always keep in mind that what you say to a person can very quickly become general information, as if you had informed the world. So be careful what you say and who you say it to.
19. Take the time to be present for others
Call your sister every time you go shopping. Tell your mother that you love her. You are not as alone as you think. Most people around you just need a sign from you to allow their presence.
20. Control your negative feelings
When a negative emotion overwhelms you, try to find its name and name it. Take responsibility for its existence and find a way to eradicate it from your life.
TAKE BACK CONTROL
You have to learn to manage the details of your life that can be controlled. Do not turn into a mad person but regaining control of your finances or your romantic relationships, for example, can be a crucial stage of personal development and, therefore, of happiness.
21. Track your spending
Create an Excel spreadsheet to record all of your expenses for the week. This habit will help you understand where you are wasting your money and where you should spend it or invest it smarter.
22. Consult a doctor
Going to the doctor gives you cold sweats? Make an appointment and introduce yourself! Nothing better to control your anxiety.
23. Take time for yourself
If you need to step back to resolve some concerns, do it! If you feel like you need to take a break from going out and get away from your friends to regain control of your life, don’t hesitate! Loneliness is an ideal time to become a better version of yourself.
24. Move out
If you feel like you need a fresh start, prepare a specific plan. Seek to strategically improve your circumstances without putting yourself in a difficult situation because you want to move as quickly as possible.
25. Quit your job
If your current job jeopardizes your well-being, prepare your CV and look for better opportunities. Don’t quit your job without having a plan in place and without finding another job that makes you happier. If you put the cart before the horse, you will find yourself in a precarious situation.
26. Clean up
Tidy up and clean your house and prepare a real dinner. Stop snacking in front of the TV. Sit at your table and enjoy the comfort of your home.
27. Get organized
Every evening, prepare everything you need in the morning: your breakfast, your clothes, your bag and your bottle of water. Your mornings will be much more serene and calm.
28. Get informed
Read the stories of people who have been in the same situation as you and find out how they did it. It is much easier to stay positive when you see that other people have dealt with these same issues before you.
29. Make a list of what worries you
As soon as you are worried about something, write it black and white instead of rehashing it in your head. This will allow you to forget your worries for a few moments. Then, at the end of the month, you can take a look at your list and find out if there is a real problem and if you need to do something about it.
30. Make a list of what you want
Whenever you need to spend money, travel, or buy a little jar, write that down on your wish list. After a few weeks, take a look at your list and treat yourself to a thing or two. This will allow you to waste much less money and create a reward system.
LOOK TO THE FUTURE
To stay positive, there is nothing better than planning for your future. Try to understand how you can achieve your goals and improve your current situation. Just thinking about it will boost your morale and you will find the positive energy you were missing.
31. Organize an outing
What do you like to do ? Go to the beach? OKAY. So organize yourself a weekend at the beach to clarify your ideas. In addition, it will create excitement at home because you will be eager to pack your bags and leave.
32. Take action
The next time you tell someone they miss you, make concrete plans to see yourself. Reserve a time slot on your calendar and make an appointment. Don’t just talk about your plans, make them happen.
33. Think and plan
Use condoms! Think about starting a family and the possibility of a permanent commitment, but until then, protect yourself. And, open a savings account, children and travel, it’s expensive!
34. Accept the change
You must be ready to grow and change. And, that’s already a big step forward for most people. Many people are scared of the idea of change when it is an essential step in becoming a better version of yourself.
35. Invest time in your career development
Create a professional site and a portfolio on the Net. You have to think about your future professional and try to find new opportunities that will allow you to boost your career.
36. Earn pennies thanks to your hobbies
Everyone dreams of being able to live from their passion. Well, the first step is to understand how to make money with your hobbie. Do you like to paint? OKAY. Try to organize a mini exhibition to publicize your work.
37. Be original
Forget your old habits and force yourself to make changes. Try new dishes, watch a different film than your usual genre, and listen to a whole new style of music. The novelty will bring you a whole new joy and will allow you to think outside the box.
38. Accept the fact that life is not always bright
Instead of forcing yourself to always be happy, accept the idea that you’re going to have a bad day. It is a natural cycle that is completely beyond your control. All you can do is learn to handle these situations with dignity.
39. Finally decide to play sports
Let’s be honest who likes to sweat and exercise? However, playing sports is a great way to get rid of stress and maintain a healthy body. Your physical health goes hand in hand with your mental health, so you have to work on improving both.
40. Consider your family life
Where do you see yourself in five years, in your personal life? If you want to have children, set yourself a period of time to try to find the ideal partner to achieve your dream.
